Health and Safety

Careful attention to sound health and safety practices are important features in any international travel program.

Physical and dental check-ups are highly recommended prior to the departure date. Participants are advised to ensure that their inoculations within Ontario medical protocols are maintained, and to inquire from a travel health clinic if further inoculations are required based on their destination. Each participant will be asked to complete the Consent to Medical Treatment Form in the event that emergency care is required.

A close working relationship has been developed between the authors and Dr. Mark Wise. Dr. Wise is a family physician in North York whose medical practice includes a travel clinic. He is considered a leading authority in tropical and parasitic diseases. (www.drwisetravel.com)
